Solomon Center Welcomes Three Health Scholars

The Solomon Center for Health Law and Policy at Yale Law School is happy to announce that it will be hosting three distinguished health scholars this academic year.

Mark Hall, the Fred D. and Elizabeth L. Turnage Professor of Law and Director of the Health Law and Public Policy Program at Wake Forest University School of Law, is a Florence Rogatz Visiting Professor of Law at Yale Law School. Professor Hall is a leading health law scholar and author of one of the leading casebooks, Health Care Law and Ethics. This fall, he will be teaching Health Law, as well as co-teaching the course The Changing Health Care Industry.

Stephen Latham, Director of the Yale Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics, will be a Lecturer in Law this coming year at Yale Law School, where he will be teaching Bioethics and Law during the fall semester. Dr. Latham has extensive teaching experience in bioethics and the law, previously teaching courses at Quinnipiac University, Northwestern University, University of Chicago, UC Berkley, and Harvard.

Joseph Fins, a physician and ethicist whose work and achievements have been recognized around the world, will return to the law school as a Senior Research Scholar in Law and the Solomon Center Distinguished Scholar in Medicine, Bioethics, and the Law, where he will continue his work on rights advocacy for patients with severe brain injuries. Students interested in this work are encouraged to apply to become a Research Assistant, with potential for co-authoring a paper.
