Yale Law School Introduces Law and Globalization Breakfast Series

Yale Law School held its first Law and Globalization Breakfast at the Century Association in New York City on November 29.  A diverse group of more than 80 alumni and their guests attended the program, entitled "The Changing Dynamics of International Arbitration." 

The Law and Globalization series supports Dean Harold Koh’s goal of making globalization a priority at YLS.  The November program was the brainchild of David Rivkin ’80 of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP who, along with Carolyn Lamm of White & Case LLP and James Carter '69 of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, participated in the panel discussion. 

It was a lively session featuring presentations by the panelists and provocative questions from moderator W. Michael Reisman '64 LL.M, '65 J.S.D, and Myres McDougal Professor of International Law at YLS.  The Honorable Howard M. Holtzmann '47, former judge of the U.S.-Iran Claims Tribunal, introduced the program, and attendees were given the opportunity to ask questions. 

The breakfasts will be offered several times a year in New York City. They begin at 7:45 a.m. and end promptly at 9:15 a.m.  CLE credit is available to all attendees. Possible future topics could include globalization and international human rights, the environment, trade, health law and information technology.
