Noëlle Lenoir Talk Oct. 30—“Is the New Europe Anticompetitive?”

On Tuesday, Oct. 30, Noëlle Lenoir, Of Counsel at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, Paris, will deliver a Dean’s Lecture titled “Is the New Europe Anticompetitive?”  The lecture will take place at 5:30 p.m. in the Faculty Lounge at Yale Law School, 127 Wall Street, New Haven.  A reception will follow in the Alumni Reading Room.

Lenoir coordinates Debevoise’s competition law and European law Practice Group in France. Her practice focuses on competition law, European Union regulation, public law and strategic alliances. She is also a member of the International Dispute Resolution Practice.

She previously served as the French Minister of European Affairs from 2002 to 2004, concentrating on the development of EU law and institutions and participating in numerous negotiations, including those with regard to the enlargement and to the drafting of the European Constitution. 

She was the first woman and youngest person on the Constitutional Council (the French Supreme Court for constitutional matters), serving a nine-year term from 1992 to 2001.  She is currently an Associate Professor and President of the European Institute at the Hautes Etudes de Commerce (H.E.C.).  She graduated from l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and the Paris Law School.
