Prison Legal Services
In Prison Legal Services, advocacy has evolved from representing federal prisoners in parole hearings and related litigation to representing prisoners in state habeas cases challenging conditions of confinement.  Prison Legal Services students have also organized conferences aimed at educating legal professionals on prisoners’ rights advocacy, held prisoners’ rights workshops inside the prison compounds, and written important scholarly articles and instructive manuals.  For instance, in collaboration with the American Civil Liberties Union of Connecticut a Prison Legal Services student wrote the most comprehensive book on the rights of Connecticut Prisoners to date.
