TOPIC: “Fixing Fiduciaries: Improving the Operation of Defined Contribution Retirement Plans”
The regulatory preoccupation with diversification has left largely unaddressed the problem of embedded costs. Estimating the diversification and fee losses from thousands of retirement plans, Professor Ayres will describe 1) the failures of current plans that can easily rob employees of 30% of their retirement income, and 2) pragmatic interventions that could improve the operation of 401k plans.
