Alumni Weekend 2013
For those of you who want to remember this wonderful reunion, and for those who were unable to attend and want to get a sense of what occurred, please take a look at the terrific photo galleries and streaming videos.
Highlights of the weekend included an early morning run with Professor Ian Ayres ’86; a “Breakfast Connections” event that paired students with alumni; an all-alumni lunch on Saturday, featuring a talk by new Yale President Peter Salovey; and the Award of Merit ceremony on Saturday afternoon, at which former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton ’73 (who was accompanied by President Bill Clinton ’73) accepted the award from Dean Robert Post '77, reminisced in front of an audience of more than two thousand alumni, guests, students, and faculty about her time at the Law School, and spoke eloquently about the “word gap” among young children that affects their early learning and preparation for school. The weekend was full of conversation about this year’s reunion theme: Global Constitutionalism. Panelists took on a range of issues, including the Role of International Law in Domestic Systems; Freedom of Expression; Judicial Review in Constitutional Systems; Equality, Liberty, and Dignity – Transnationally; and Globalization, Foreign Policy and National Security.
On Saturday night and Sunday morning, reunion classes--those in classes ending in 3’s and 8’s--met together for their class reunion dinners and brunches.
We look forward to welcoming all graduates to Alumni Weekend 2014 on October 24 - 26. Please mark your calendars now! It is not too early to make your plans.
