Those arriving by air or train should check in and get final weekend information. Those arriving by car are encouraged to park first, then go to Room 122 at the Law School to register.
What should I wear?
Most reunion events are casual. For the Class Dinner, most classes suggest jacket and tie for men and comparable attire for women. Some brunches are outdoors and may be held under a tent, regardless of weather, so please plan accordingly.
What will the weather be like?
For the Connecticut weather forecast, go to www.wtnh.com/subindex/weather.
Can I just show up at campus on my reunion?
Though we will be prepared for a limited number of walk-in registrants, advance registration is strongly encouraged to hold your space at a reunion, and to help us have a more accurate idea of how many meals to order. In addition, any special meal must be made by September 19th. Our ability to honor on-site special requests is very limited. Additionally, the on-site registration fee will be much higher.
I noticed that the reunion is starting a day early this year. What events are taking place on Thursday?
The Law School administration is excited to announce that the affinity group alumni dinners, previously held in the spring, are now part of a “pre-Weekend” celebration hosted by the Office of Student Affairs. The following Yale Law School student organizations will hold a joint reception, followed by the traditional group dinners, on the evening of Thursday, October 23: Asian Pacific American Law Students Association, Black Law Students Association, Latino Law Students Association, Native American Law Students Association, OutLaws (LGBTQ), and South Asian Law Students Association. All alumni are welcome to participate in the reception and dinners. More information can be found on the Thursday Events web page.
How do I get in touch with someone in my class?
The Online Alumni Directory gives you immediate access to your classmates' contact information without having to call Yale. Assistance is available on the site if you are a first time user or have forgotten your password.
Can I change my reunion package when I arrive?
If you would like to add more events to your reunion package, you can do so at the On-Site Registration Area in the Registration Room. The increased registration pricing will be in effect, though, so we do recommend that you make your registrations beforehand.
Will YLS provide transportation to off-campus reunion events?
Yes. The Law School has hired buses to shuttle alumni and their guests from their hotels to the Law School and back. There will also be shuttles available to take alumni to and from their Saturday dinner and Sunday brunch locations. More information about the shuttle schedule can be found on the Local Transportation web page.
What can I do around New Haven in my free time?
New Haven has a lot to offer! For a listing of restaurants, museums, and other attractions, please see our Exploring New Haven web page. This information will also be available in the Registration Room during the Weekend.
Are there any family-friendly events I can bring my children to?
Some reunion classes have daytime events that are family-friendly, such as ice cream socials in the courtyard or volunteer work around New Haven. For a list of class events, please see our Informal Activities web page. The Alumni Affairs Office does not organize children-specific events.
Are childcare services provided?
We have assembled a list of students and staff members who have expressed interest in babysitting during the Weekend. Yale Law School has not requested their experience or background information. For more information on hiring a babysitter, please see our Child Care web page.
How do I find out if my class is having any special events?
Some reunion classes have class-specific informal activities throughout the weekend. To find out if yours is among them, please see our Informal Activities web page. If you would like to make a suggestion for an informal activity, please contact your class’s Reunion Chair.
Who do I contact if I have a disability or special needs?
When you register for Alumni Weekend, you will have an opportunity to explain any special needs that you may have. If you would like to speak with a member of the Alumni Affairs Office staff, please call (203) 432-1690 or send an email to email@example.com.
Are there on-campus accommodations available for alumni?
At this time, there is no on-campus housing available.
Where can I park when I’m attending the reunion?
Parking is very limited in New Haven, so it is suggested that you leave your vehicle at your hotel and walk or take the shuttle. There is on-street metered parking available, as well as a few parking garages and lots. For complete details about parking on Alumni Weekend, please see our Parking web page.
Will I have a chance to purchase YLS merchandise?
Yes. There will be YLS memorabilia for sale in the Registration Room. Items for sale include sweaters, hats, ties, t-shirts, and more. The Yale Book Store, located at 77 Broadway, will also be open.
Will there be assigned seating at the meals?
Yes, at the all-alumni dinner on Friday and all-alumni luncheon on Saturday, alumni and their guests are seated according to class reunion year. Those who graduated in the same class will be at the same tables. There is no assigned seating at class-specific meals.
Can I see who else is attending Alumni Weekend?
Yes. For a complete list of registrants, please see our Attendees web page. You can search for attending alumni by name or class year.
I pre-registered but now I cannot attend. Am I eligible for a refund?
If you registered for Alumni Weekend but can no longer attend, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
