Metro North Train Delay Information

As many of you may know, the Metro North railway has been experiencing severe power outages throughout the past week. There have been some concerns coming in from alumni and guests who had planned on using the train to get to New Haven for Alumni Weekend, so we wanted to update you on your best travel options. Right now, Metro North is up and running again, but requires riders to switch trains in Stamford, and is only running about once an hour. There are also delays and cancellations occurring on a regular basis. By Friday this situation could be completely resolved, but you may want to explore other options (bus, ride shares, etc.) in the event that there are still issues. Please keep in mind that because of the train power outages, highways are quite congested right now, so if you are planning on driving you should leave more time for travel or plan a route with that in mind.

For more information on the current situation, please see: http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2013/09/28/con-ed-temporary-power-fix-could-alleviate-some-woes-on-metro-north/.

You can also check on the status of Metro North on the MTA website: http://web.mta.info/supplemental/mnr/mnr_weather_info.html.
Stay tuned for updates – we are hoping for the best by Friday!
