June 28, 2012 – YLSA of Washington, DC – Annual Alumni Dinner
On June 28, close to 300 YLS alumni, current students, admitted students, and their guests gathered at the National Press Club, for the YLSA of Washington, DC, Annual Dinner. The evening began with a reception, and before dinner, Dean Robert Post ’77 gave an update on the Law School, including a description of the new faculty members. After dinner, YLSA Steering Committee Co-Chair Samuel Davidoff ’03 welcomed alumni and their guests and introduced the guest speaker, Clarence Thomas ’74, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Justice Thomas gave a heartfelt talk, filled with humor and insight. Then the Justice opened the floor to questions. Everyone seemed to have a wonderful time, and enjoyed seeing YLS friends and having the opportunity to hear and speak with Justice Thomas, who lingered after the event to personally greet graduates and their guests. Attendees included graduates from every decade, including many recent graduates and summer associates. In some cases, there were real “mini-reunions” for certain classes.
