Barry R. Schaller

Visiting Clinical Lecturer in Law
Justice Barry R. Schaller is a Visiting Clinical Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School. He served on the Connecticut Supreme Court from 2007 to 2008 and continues his judicial service on the Connecticut Appellate Court, to which he was appointed in 1992. He was appointed to the Connecticut trial bench in 1974. During his many years as a judge, he has served on all of Connecticut’s statewide courts and in all three branches of state government. He presently chairs the Committee on Judicial Ethics for the Connecticut Judicial Branch. He has written extensively on a wide variety of subjects, including federal and state constitutional law, family violence, managerial judging, and jurisprudence. He received his B.A. from Yale College and his J.D. from Yale Law School.
