Brian T. Daly

Visiting Lecturer in Law
Brian Daly is a Visiting Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School and a partner in the New York office of Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP, where he advises hedge and private equity fund managers on regulatory, compliance and operational matters. Having spent nearly a decade serving in-house as general counsel and chief compliance officer at several prominent hedge fund firms, Brian is well-versed in a wide range of legal and business challenges facing investment advisers and other financial services entities and has represented clients in proceedings and interactions with regulators in the U.S., the U.K. and Asia. He also is active in educational efforts relating to the alternative investment fund community, including through the Managed Funds Association and as a Practicing Law Institute faculty member. He holds a B.A. in history from The Catholic University of America, an M.A. in Asian Studies from the University of Hawaii, and a J.D. with distinction from Stanford Law School, where he was editor-in-chief of the Stanford Journal of International Law and an associate editor of the Stanford Law Review.
