Gary B. Gorton

Professor (Adjunct) of Law (fall term)
Gary B. Gorton is a Professor (Adjunct) of Law at Yale Law School and the Frederick Frank Class of 1954 Professor of Finance at Yale School of Management. He is also a Professor of Economics in the Yale College of Arts & Sciences. Gorton is a research associate for the National Bureau of Economic Research, a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York Financial Advisory Roundtable, a co-director of Yale Systemic Risk Institute, and a Sloan Fellow at the Wharton Financial Institutions Center. Before joining the School of Management, he held a tenured professorship at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Gorton holds an assortment of degrees in Economics, Chinese Studies, and Chinese Language and Literature from the University of Rochester, Cleveland State University, the University of Michigan, and Oberlin College.
