John Asker

Associate Research Scholar in Law and Lecturer in Law
John Asker is an Associate Research Scholar in Law and Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School, as well as an Associate Professor of Economics at New York University’s Stern School of Business. He teaches empirical industrial organization, strategy research, and microeconomics, and he researches topics related to cartel behavior, vertical restraints, procurement design and the effects of industry subsidies. He has held visiting positions at the Centre for the Study of Industrial Organization at Northwestern University, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and Melbourne Business School. Professor Asker holds a Bachelor of Economics from Australian National University and a Ph.D. and an M.A., both in economics, from Harvard University.
