Joseph G. Manning
Senior Research Scholar in Law
Joseph Manning is a Senior Research Scholar in Law at Yale Law School and The William K. and Marilyn M. Simpson Professor of Classics and History at Yale University. His primary scholarly interests relate to the economic and legal history of the Hellenistic world. Manning has just finished a monograph on Ptolemaic state institutions and is currently editing a volume on legal sources from Egypt entitled: Law and Society in Ptolemaic, Roman, and Byzantine Egypt for Cambridge University Press. He is a graduate of The University of Chicago and Ohio State University.
