Joseph G. Manning

Senior Research Scholar in Law
Joseph Manning is a Senior Research Scholar in Law at Yale Law School and a Professor of Classics and History at Yale University. His primary scholarly interests relate to the economic and legal history of the Hellenistic world. Manning has just finished a monograph on Ptolemaic state institutions and is currently editing a volume on legal sources from Egypt entitled: Law and Society in Ptolemaic, Roman, and Byzantine Egypt for Cambridge University Press. He is a graduate of The University of Chicago and Ohio State University.
