José Antonio Guevara

José Guevara has served as the Minister responsible for human rights in the Permanent Mission of Mexico before the United Nations Office in Geneva since 2006. He was Deputy Director General for Human Rights and Democracy at the Mexican Ministry for Foreign Affairs from 2004 to 2006). Previously he was head of the Human Rights Program of the Iberoamericana University (2004-2006), and Regional Coordinator for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Coalition for the International Criminal Court.(2004-2006). He has a Ph.D. in law with a specialization in Human Rights from the University Carlos III of Madrid and a Law Degree from Iberoamericana University in Mexico City.
