A2K Conferences

The Information Society Project has hosted a trio of international conferences devoted to Access to Knowledge themes. Materials from these conferences - including schedules, speaker bios, presentations and more - may be accessed via the links below.

First Access to Knowledge Conference

The ISP hosted its first Access to Knowledge conference on April 21-23, 2006.  The A2K conference served a major role in building bridges between international policy makers, scholars, activists, and industry representatives concerned with access to knowledge.

Second Access to Knowledge Conference

The ISP hosted its second Access to Knowledge conference on April 27-29, 2007.  The A2K2 conference emphasized collaboration among diverse A2K stakeholds, and concrete agenda-setting to advance access to knowledge worldwide.

Third Access to Knowledge Conference

The ISP hosted its third Access to Knowledge conference on September 8-10, 2008.  The A2K3 conference was held in Geneva, organized in collaboration with an international team of partners.

Upcoming Conferences

The ISP will host a conference on the theme of Intellectual Property and Innovation on March 7, 2008.

The ISP will host a conference on the theme of Access to Knowledge and Human Rights in Fall 2009.
