Amalia Amaya received her Ph.D. from the European University Institute in 2006 and an LL.M and a S.J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2007. She joined the Institute of Philosophical Research at the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 2008. Her main interests are in the philosophy of law although she is also interested in ethics and practical reason. She has published several articles on topics related to the epistemology of legal proof and the theory of legal reasoning and a book on the role of coherence in legal reasoning (to appear with Hart Publishing in 2009). Her current research focuses on the role of virtue in legal justification.
