Alejandro Madrazo
Alejandro Madrazo is Professor of Legal History and Comparative Law at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, UNAM (on leave). He is currently visiting professor at CIDE in Mexico City. He also practices law specializing in high-impact public interest litigation cases before the Mexican Supreme Court and has recently been involved in prominent cases in telecommunications law, tobacco control and the decriminalization of abortion in Mexico City. He obtained an LL.B. from ITAM in 2002, an LL.M. from Yale Law School in 2003, and a J.S.D., also from Yale, in 2006. He has published in Mexico and abroad on topics ranging from legal education and legal culture in Mexico, the influence of theology on legal methodology, tobacco control and, most recently, the right to information.
