Steven M. Mutula

Stephen M Mutula is an associative professor and Head of the Department of Library and Information Studies, University of Botswana. He holds a PhD in information science (University of Johannesburg, South Africa), Master’s degree in Librarianship (University of Wales, UK), Postgraduate diploma in computer science (University of Nairobi, Kenya) and Bachelors degree in Education (Kenyatta University, Kenya). He has published extensively in reputable international refereed journals and chapters in books. He is the author of Digital Economies: SMES & E-readiness published by IGI (2009). He is also the first co-author of a book titled: Web information management: A cross disciplinary textbook published by Chandos Publishing, London, 2007. He is the co-editor of L.O. Aina, S. Mutula and M.A. Tiamiyu (eds.) Information and Knowledge Management in the Digital Age: Concepts, Technologies and African Perspectives. Ibadan: Third world Information Services Ltd.   He serves on more than a dozen international editorial boards. Prof Mutula has since 2000 won several international excellence awards for his distinguished research work from various academic societies and literati clubs. Prof. Mutula teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the areas of small business enterprises, global information systems. He researches in the areas of information society, e-government, digital divide, and ICT for development.
