Introduction to LexisNexis and Westlaw

When:  Wednesday, September 16th,  3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Where:  Library Computer Classroom on L2
Event Details: This joint session with Lexis and Westlaw will teach students the basic functions of these databases.  Additional instruction on Lexis and Westlaw available by appointment.

Academic Research Integrity Workshop
When: Friday, September 18th, Noon - 1:00 p.m.
Where: SLB 128
Event Details:  Students will learn the ethics of proper citation and the mechanics of bluebooking.

OCTOBER

Research Tools for JSD / LLM Students
When:  Wednesday, October 14th, 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Where: Library Computer Classroom on L2
Event Details:  Students will learn how to submit a paper for publication using an automated service.  In addition, students will learn how to manage and track their research using tools such as RSS feeds, Zotero, Refworks, automated alerts, etc.

NOVEMBER

Intermediate level training LexisNexis and Westlaw
When:  November 4th, 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Where:  Library Computer Classroom on L2
Event Details: This joint session with Lexis and Westlaw will focus on using these databases to develop a legal writing topic, how to track and update your research, as well as where to go for additional research assistance.

DECEMBER

Legal Research on the Web, Issues Using the Internet
When: Wednesday, December 2nd, 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Where: Library Computer Classroom on L2
Event Details:  Lecturers will discuss where to find foreign and domestic law on the web and how to identify which of these sources are authoritative and authentic.
