About the Pharos Uniprint System

How do I get a printing account?

All on-line print account management functions require a PrintlD. For most users, this is their NetlD and uses the same password. Library visitors may create a PrintlD. If you do not know your NetlD or you are a visitor and need to set up a PrintlD, visit the ITS Print Account Management web page and select the appropriate link from the menu on the left.

How do I put money in my account?

There are four methods of adding funds to a print account:

  1. Student Account Billing: Yale affiliated users who have a Student Account in good standing may use it to add money to their NetID/PrintID. The amount allocated will be identified on their Student Account bill as "ITS Distributed Printing".
Note: Student Account Charging is updated daily by Student Financial & Administrative Services (SFAS). If "Student Account Charge" does not appear as a valid payment method when you click on the "Add Funds to my Account" button on the above mention Web page, it means that you do not have Student Account Charging privileges. Questions about Student Accounts may be directed to Student Financial & Administrative Services, 432-2700.

  2. Credit Card: Yale RIS Client-Site Printing & Copying supports Visa and MasterCard transactions on the Web. To add funds to your account by charging your credit card, visit this page and click on the credit card link. The amount charged will appear on your credit card statement as Reprographics & Imaging Services-ITS. Note that the option to choose "other amount" is currently not working

  3. Cash or Check: Visit the RIS Customer Service Counter, 155 Whitney Avenue, Rear, Ground Floor,
M-F 8:30 – 6:00, (Tel. 432-6560). NOTE: Visitors must set up a PrintID before going to 155 Whiney to add funds.

  4. Assigning UnipriNT Cost Centers to Departmental PTAEO Accounts: This section is for Yale departments using Pharos UnipriNT software. Pharos UnipriNT recovers and reports printing and copying costs per device. This method is especially useful for students doing organizational or research assistant work. For more information, consult this page.

How do I print or copy?

Print to the Canon ImageRunner 3300 from a Windows or Macintosh computer in the Reading Room as you normally would by selecting "Print" from the File/Print Menu. After sending the print job from your computer go to the Print Station located next to the elevator, across from the circulation desk. Logon the Print Station with your NetID/PrintID and password. You will now see all the jobs in the print queue and the funds available in your account. The print queue displays a user name, the name of the job, the number of pages, and how much it will cost to print it. Select the job you want to print and then click on "PRINT".

How can I print from my Mac or Windows laptop?

See this handout for step-by-step instructions. You can then print from anywhere you have a network connection, even wirelessly. NOTE: To print from an off-campus location, you should turn on your VPN connection before printing.

What if I need a refund?

If you were charged for a page that did not print or for a defective page, please contact a Computing Assistant or RIS Client-Site Printing and Copying at: 764-7015. You may also send email to yaleris@yale.edu

How much does printing cost?
