There are a variety of options for JSD and LLM students who are interested in research education. First, students may decide to enroll in any of the research courses provided by the Law School. Second, the students are encouraged to attend the monthly research seminars detailed below. Third, if students are unable to avail themselves of options one or two, or feel that they need additional training, they can request their own instructional training session here.
MONTHLY RESEARCH SEMINARS FOR JSD / LLM STUDENTS:
Title of Program: Introduction to LexisNexis and Westlaw
When: Monday, September 8th, 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
Where: Library Computer Classroom on L2
Event Details: This joint session with Lexis and Westlaw will teach students the basic functions of these databases. Additional instruction on Lexis and Westlaw available by appointment.
Title of Program: Legal Writing and Research Tools for JSD / LLM Students
When: Monday, October 6th, 6:15 - 7:30 p.m.

Event Details: In conjunction with the legal writing instructors demonstrating to students how to pick a writing topic and develop an academic paper, a librarian will show students how to submit a paper for publication.
Title of Program: Library Databases and Tools for Managing Your Research
When: November 2008, specific date and time TBA
Where: Library Computer Classroom on L2
Event Details: Students will learn more about legal databases and how to manage their electronic research using tools such as Zotero, Google, Refworks, etc.
Title of Program: Specialized Legal Research
