Assistant Dean Gordon Silverstein Named Chair-Elect of APSA’s Organized Section on Law & Courts

Gordon Silverstein, Assistant Dean for Graduate Programs, has been named chair-elect of the American Political Science Association’s Organized Section on Law & Courts. The APSA is the world’s leading academic organization of political scientists, and the Organized Section on Law & Courts is one of the oldest and largest subgroups of the APSA. It includes scholars and practitioners who study every aspect of law and courts – from jurisprudence to judicial behavior – and is comprised of law faculty as well as political scientists, historians, sociologists and economists, among others.

Silverstein is the author of two books and a wide range of articles and book chapters on American and comparative constitutional law and the separation of powers. He earned his Ph.D. in political science at Harvard University and has been a faculty member in political science and law at a number of institutions, including the University of California, Berkeley, where he taught for eight years. He joined Yale Law School in summer 2012.
