YLS Commencement 2006 Video and Text

Yale Law School's Commencement took place on Monday, May 22, in the Law School's courtyard, with the announcement of 233 degree candidates (198 J.D.; 28 LL.M; 6 J.S.D.; 1 M.S.L.). Opening remarks were made by Dean Harold Hongju Koh, and Dan Kahan, Deputy Dean and Elizabeth K. Dollard Professor of Law, delivered the Commencement Address. Sandra Day O'Connor, Retired Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court, received an honorary degree earlier in the day from Yale University. Justice O'Connor appeared at the Law School's ceremony, during which she gave remarks on the topic of judicial independence.
