Judge Carolyn Dineen King ’62 Receives Devitt Distinguished Service Award
Yale Law School alum Carolyn Dineen King ’62, Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, has been selected as the 2007 recipient of the Edward J. Devitt Distinguished Service to Justice Award. Judge King is only the second woman to receive the award since it was initiated in 1982. She was chosen by a three-member panel chaired by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Chief Judge Michael Boudin, U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, nominated Judge King, saying that she “has been an outstanding chief judge of her own circuit, almost legendary in her devotion to its needs.” Read more in this American Judicature Society press release.
