Honor Joey’s Legacy of Compassion and Service—Give Blood This Week
In twenty-three short years, Joey did so much with his life. He would have done so much more. How privileged we were to know him. His spirit is the spirit of this place and it will live on.
-Dean Harold Hongju Koh at the Joey Hanzich ’10 Memorial Service, Sept. 30, 2007
Yale Law School students, faculty and staff are invited to give the gift of life in honor of a special member of our community who passed away at the beginning of the academic year. Joey Hanzich ’10 was a gifted and much loved first-year student when he died suddenly on September 13 at the age of 23. You can pay tribute to Joey’s life and legacy of service by taking part in the Joey Hanzich ’10 Memorial Blood Drive being held Wednesday, April 23, through Friday, April 25, at the Payne Whitney Gymnasium. Hours for donation are Wednesday and Thursday, 1:00-6:30 p.m., and Friday, 1:00-3:15 p.m.
Sign-up is quick and easy. Visit www.yale.edu/redcross and click “Sign Up To Donate.” Eligibility guidelines are listed on the site. Once you choose your desired time slot, you will receive an email confirmation. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome, too. Please remember to bring your Yale photo I.D. with you when you donate.
In less than an hour, you could save three lives—a fitting and wonderful way to celebrate the spirit of our friend and colleague, Joey Hanzich.
