Getting to the Conference

Located at 127 Wall Street, New Haven, Connecticut, Yale Law School occupies the block bounded by Grove, York, Wall and High Streets at the heart of the Yale campus in downtown New Haven, CT.

By Train

Trains run regularly to New Haven from New York City (via Metro-North Railroad or Amtrak) and from Boston and Washington, D.C. (via Amtrak).

By Plane

Commuter airlines provide connections to Tweed-New Haven Airport from many major U.S. cites. Bradley International Airport in Hartford (BDL) is a much larger airport accommodating all major airlines (including the economy airlines such as Southwest) and with direct flights to all major cities. It is located about 40 miles north from New Haven and may be reached either by car or by Connecticut Limousine’s Shuttle service.

New York City-area airports John F. Kennedy (JFK), LaGuardia (LGA), and Newark (EWR) are 81, 77 and 95 miles away, respectively.   All airports are served by Connecticut Limousine shuttle service.  Connections from the New York airports to Metro North/ Amtrak can be made by taking (sometimes complex) public transportation:
JFK: Airtrain? LaGuardia: NYC MTA Bus
Newark: New Jersey Transit also, direct connection to Amtrak

By Car

From Interstate 95

Southbound: Take exit 47 for I-91 North in New Haven; follow directions below.
Northbound: Take exit 48 for I-91 North in New Haven (left exit); follow directions below.

From I-91

Take Exit 3 off I-91 (from North or South). The exit ramp becomes Trumbull Street. Follow Trumbull one block, and immediately after crossing Whitney Avenue, turn left onto Temple Street. Take the first right onto Grove Street. Take the second left onto High Street along the east side of the Sterling Law Building. Take the first right onto Wall Street, where you will see the main entrance. View these directions

From the Merritt Parkway

Take exit 59 for New Haven/Woodbridge. Turn right onto Whalley Avenue and contunue until it merged with Elm Street. Turn left onto College Street. Turn left onto Wall Street. (You may take a left from Elm Street and find parking on York Street, which borders the Law School to the west). View these directions


Metered parking is available on Grove Street and on other streets in the vicinity; the main entrance to the Law School (127 Wall Street) is a short walk away at the corner of Wall and High Streets.

Finding a Place to Stay

There are many hotels in and around New Haven: City of New Haven Lodging Information. The Courtyard by Marriott, Omni New Haven Hotel, Colony Inn, Hotel New Haven and Hotel Duncan are all walking distance to the conference.

Please Note: The Courtyard by Marriott should be able to provide a discounted rate to conference participants. If you are interested in booking a room at the Courtyard by Marriott please contact anna.vinnik@yale.edu and she can help you with the booking.

We may be able to find accommodation for students attending the conference with Yale Law School students. If you are a student attending the conference and are in need of accommodation, please contact anna.vinnik@yale.edu and she can help coordinate finding you a spare bed or floor to stay on. Because coordinating housing will take some time, we will not be able to fulfill any accommodation requests made after April 1, 2010.
