The Yale Law Library LibX Edition return to LibX Information Page Installation The URL for the Firefox extension is: http://libx.org/editions/yalelaw/libx-yalelaw.xpi The URL for the Internet Explorer extension is: http://libx.org/editions/yalelaw/libx-yalelaw.exe To install, you must have Firefox or IE open. When you click on the "Install YaleLaw LibX button or the URL link, the browser attempts the installation immediately. Managing your Extensions in Firefox You may control the view of the Yale Law Library LibX extension by deselecting the extension in the Toolbar preferences found under View on the main Firefox toolbar. You may delete the Yale Law Library LibX extension by opening the Extensions management window under Tools and then Extensions on the main Firefox toolbar. Troubleshooting Firefox If Firefox displays a message below the toolbars "To protect your computer, Firefox prevented this site... from installing software on your computer" then press the button labeled "Edit Options..." and click "Allow" and add www.law.yale.edu to the list of websites from which extensions may be installed. Then click "OK" and visit the "Install" link again. There have been reports of difficulties installing LibX when the Firefox cache is full or when there is a conflict with a previous version of LibX or another Firefox extensions. If this happens, complete the following steps: 1) Right click on the above URL and select "Save links as". 2) Download the .xpi file (libx-yalelaw.xpi) and save to your local desktop. 3) In Firefox, select File and then Open and locate where you saved the libx-yalelaw.xpi file. 4) Firefox will then install the LibX extension. 5) You will be able to view the LibX extension when you close all windows of Firefox and reopen.
