Steven Smith is a Professor (Adjunct) of Law at Yale Law School and the Alfred Cowles Professor of Political Science and Professor of Philosophy at Yale University, where he has taught since 1984. He is the author of several books, most recently Reclaiming Patriotism in an Age of Extremes (2021). He is currently working on a short book on Lincoln.
