YLS Students Perform in Field Fund Spring Recital
On a winter's night in December, Yale Law students warmed the halls of the Sterling Law Building with their musical performances in the Joseph M. Field Fund winter recital. On December 5, 2012, fourteen law students assembled chamber music groups of duets, trios, and quartets to play strings, woodwinds, keyboard, vocals, and brass. At the end of the night, performers and audience members gathered around the piano for to sing carols and other festive holiday songs.
"It's always such a treat to perform in front of your friends, and a welcome break from the law school routine," said John Paredes '13, who sang works for tenor by Gabriel Fauré and Robert Schumann.
Students from all three years participated, with performances by Spencer Amdur, Jonathan Atkins, Peter Chen, Miriam Estrin (with Elana Estrin), Thomas Huang, Julie Hunter, Nipun Kant, John Paredes, Sally Pei, Ravi Ramanathan, Sheela Ramesh, Jennifer Skene, Nancy Tao, Julie Veroff.
The spring recital will take place on Wednesday, April 10th, at 7 pm. Performers from all three classes are looking forward to this opportunity to explore a wide range of traditional and non-traditional "chamber" music, with repertoire ranging from art songs and arias to the Beatles.
