This is the web site associated with Corporate Counsel magazine, one of American Lawyer Media's publications. Site provides news for the in-house community, including access to articles in Corporate Counsel magazine and the Directory of In-House Law Departments at the Top 250 Companies. Access to the directory is free upon creating an account and obtaining a password. Directory is searchable by industry or practice area. Each listing provides the size of the legal department and a brief biography of the chief legal counsel, including law school attended.
Corporate Pro Bono
Initiative of ACCA designed to increase the amount of pro bono work performed by in-house counsel. Site provides information about those corporations most committed to pro bono work and the types of projects taken on by these organizations.
MBA Jungle.com
Primarily serves MBA students, but has useful information for law students seeking nonlegal businsess positions. Click "Research Companies" to access a database of employers searchable by industry and geography.
Minority Corporate Counsel Association
The web site serves as a repository of information about diversity in the legal profession, including career-related articles, lists of recipients of MCCA's Employers of Choice Awards, spotlights on minority corporate counsel, and links to web sites of companies and local minority bar associations.
Vault
Use this Vault site to supplement the information on legal careers available through the Vault Online Career Library for YLS and to gather information about industries other than law, such as banking and consulting. For each industry, site provides profiles of employers, message boards and career articles. Portions of the site are reserved for paying "Gold" members. A six-month "Gold" membership is $6.95/month.
WetFeet
In the Career Research section of the site, you can read career and industry overviews, job requirements, career tracks and compensation for a host of business careers. This section also contains company profiles, information about salaries, perks and city profiles. Site also contains an advice section and job listings. Wetfeet Press publishes Insiders Guides on job searching and on particular industries and employers. These publications are available for sale via the WetFeet site and many are also in CDO.
