Our support includes one-on-one counseling and strategizing, resume and cover letter review, and mock interviews. We also offer a large variety of internal and external resources for alumni at every stage of career, and at every juncture of potential job and career transition.
How to get started:
Alumni may schedule appointments with CDO attorney-counselor and Director of Alumni and Alternative Careers Alison B. Hornstein by calling 203-432-1676 or by emailing email@example.com. If possible, please provide a recent version of your resume prior to your appointment, no matter how rough.
Career Management System
Alumni should (re)familiarize themselves with the many useful facets of the Career Management System, which include an online job posting system that is available to alumni as well as YLS Career Connections, an opt-in searchable database and networking resource of more than 1,700 alumni who have agreed to provide career-related advice to other alumni and current students. YLS Career Connections can be searched in various ways including: name, area of expertise, employer type, and geographic location. Alumni should also join YLS Career Connections so that they can become part of this growing network.
CDO also offers several internal and external resources for alumni at every stage of career. These resources include summaries of types of careers in which alumni are frequently interested in pursuing, available in the Career Pathways section of this site, as well as a Toolkit for Alumni Job Seekers, which includes advice and information about resume and cover letter drafting, networking, and many other issues that arise over the course of a career or a job search.
Alumni are also welcome to review CDO’s Career Guides, publications which provide focused information on a large variety of career paths, as well as to utilize CDO’s list of external career links, which may prove helpful to alumni in various stages of their job searches.
