The Career Development Office (CDO) at Yale Law School has many resources to assist alumni seeking career advice. CDO's attorney counselors have extensive experience in numerous areas of legal practice. Each counselor specializes in one or more of the following areas of practice: private sector, public sector, judicial clerkships, public interest fellowships, academia, and alternative legal careers. Alumni may schedule appointments by calling 203-432-1676 or emailing cdo.law@yale.edu

Please note that due to the demands on the office, the availability of alumni counseling appointments is limited during the months of August and November. If you are in need of counseling during those specific times, please email a summary of your current situation to cdo.law@yale.edu.

CDO has an online job posting system that is available to alumni. Please call CDO at 203-432-1676 to obtain a username and password. CDO maintains a variety of publications and CDO program videotapes online and an extensive library in its office. Alumni in the New Haven area are welcome to visit our office, meet with our staff, attend our programs, and utilize our materials.

Alumni can provide assistance to CDO and current students of the law school in many ways, including joining  YLS Career Connections, speaking at programs, interviewing during our interview programs, and serving as Mentors in Residence. Please contact CDO for additional information about these and other programs.
