YLS Career Connections (www.law.yale.edu/careerconnections)
Career Connections is a database of more than 1,200 alumni who have offered to provide career-related advice to Yale law students and graduates. Members can be searched by name, area of expertise, employer type, geographic location, and more.

Association of American Law Schools

For those interested in careers in legal academia, this site provides information about subscriptions to the AALS Placement Bulletin, a publication that lists available faculty and administrative positions, as well as positions related to legal education outside law schools. Subscription rates are $22 for a single issue or $85 for four issues (the Bulletin is published 4 times per year).

This site provides information about academic positions.  Click "careers" on the left sidebar then browse jobs by discipline and select "law/legal studies" to view legal academic positions.  Site also contains general advice about academic career choices.

Provides news and features, along with classified listings separated by states in the Career Center. The sections for California, Pennsylvania, DC and New York provide related information from legal magazines. Provides links to many law firms from the Law Firm Central section. Can use law firm finder to conduct advanced searches.

Lexis®

Lexis provides a monthly password to graduates to access the Lexis Career Library. Call (800) 45-LEXIS or CDO for password information.

Martindale Hubbell

A database of information about attorneys and law firms around the world. Through the Lawyer Locator, you can search the database for individual attorneys, all law firms in a particular city, firms with a particular practice area and more. While MH does not list every law firm, it is the most extensive directory available. There is also a Legal Careers section with advice and job listings.

NALP Directory of Legal Employers

NALP's National Directory of Legal Employers, a directory of the larger law firms in the U.S. is searchable via this site. The directory is searchable by employer name, location, size, practice area and more. Each employer's individual listing contains additional details about the firm, including salary, number of anticipated hires, contact information and a link to the employer's NALP Workplace Questionnaire, with information about benefits, alternative work options, pro bono and more.

National Association of Legal Search Consultants

Web site contains a searchable membership directory with contact information for many search firms, access to their newsletter and a recitation of their code of ethics.

PSLawNet

A searchable database of jobs in public interest, including public interest organizations, private firms, fellowships, judiciary, etc. Contact information for thousands of potential job sources, as well as specific openings. Free to Yale students and alumni.

Vault.com

Contains information about numerous industries including consulting, venture capital and investment banking. Click on Law under Industries to access Vault's Top 100 firm rankings, featured firms, a day in the life profiles and more. Scroll down under Indispensible Links to access law firm snapshots, message boards, and the Why Work for Us section. This site contains similar information for the banking and consulting industries.

Yale Career Network

The Yale Career Network is the University equivalent to YLS Career Connections. It is a database of alumni from any school within Yale who have offered to assist students or fellow alumni seeking career advice. Students can log in using their netIDs. Alumni need to join the online alumni community to gain access to the site.

Yale University Online Alumni Directory

The Online Alumni Directory contains name, degree and contact information for all alumni of Yale College, the Graduate School and Yale's professional schools. It is available only to alumni who join the online alumni community.
