CDO provides various resources to assist students and alumni as they explore their career options. Several of the more widely used are described below.

YLS Career Connections
CDO and the Office of Alumni Affairs collaborate to maintain a database of more than 1,600 alumni who have agreed to provide career-related advice to current students and other alumni. YLS Career Connections  is a valuable networking resource that can be searched in various ways including: name, area of expertise, employer type, and geographic location.

Alumni Career Profiles
The narratives of YLS alumni in the Alumni Career Profiles provide helpful information and advice about pursuing a variety of careers. Profiles are viewable by sector, including business, government/public interest, and law firms.

CDO publishes 18 guides annually which are available to current students and alumni at CDO and online. The attorney-counselors also offer advice in response to common student questions that are available online as well.

Print and Video Resources
CDO also maintains a sizable library of books which can be checked out from the office, as well as videotapes and streaming videos of CDO’s programs, covering general career planning and specific fields of interest.

Student Employment Evaluations and Clerkship Comment Surveys
Some of the most popular materials in CDO are the comments collected from students about their summer employment in the online summer employment evaluations. The evaluations cover summer employment experiences from the past seven years. In addition, those who are pursuing judicial clerkships regularly take advantage of the information from former YLS clerks in the confidential comment surveys. Clerkship applicants can access clerkship comment surveys since 2007 online.
