Terri is available to counsel students and alumni in all stages of career development and in all areas of legal employment; however, she specializes in public interest and academic fields. Public interest work encompasses employment with federal, state, or local government; and non-profit organizations.

Terri received her JD cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, where she served on the Pennsylvania Law Review. She clerked with federal district court Judge Edward Thaxter Gignoux in Portland, Maine, and spent several years practicing law with one of Maine's leading firms. Her practice primarily involved representing municipal and education clients in a broad range of issues, including special education, civil rights, and employment law. Terri ran a statewide law related education program to improve citizenship education, prevent delinquency, and advance conflict management skills. She served as the President of Maine's Legal Service Corporation, and as a Board Member. Immediately prior to coming to Yale, Terri taught Education Law and Gender and the Law at the University of Maine School of Law, and Employment Law, Gender, Family Law, and Administrative Law at Western New England College School of Law. She has published several articles in the area of education law.

Terri has served on the Board of Directors of NALP (the National Association of Law Placement) as a Regional Coordinator and as a Vice President of the Public Interest Section. She has also served on the Executive Committee, and as the Chair, of the AALS (American Association of Law Schools) Section on Pro Bono and Public Service; and as a liaison to the ABA's Commission on Loan Repayment. Terri currently serves on the Executive Committee of the AALS Student Services Section.
