Please join the Yale Federalist Society for a debate between NYU Law Professor Richard Epstein and YLS Professor Jed Rubenfeld on United States v. Alvarez and the constitutionality of the Stolen Valor Act.
The Stolen Valor Act is a federal statute that makes it a criminal offense to falsely represent oneself as having received any U.S. military decoration or medal. In United States v. Alvarez, the Court will consider whether knowingly false factual statements are entitled to First Amendment protection.
