Conservation and Land Use Coffee Chat
Should conservation easements control land uses in perpetuity? Professor Stern will discuss conservation easements as a land use tool and possible legal solutions to the “problem of perpetuity” in conservation easements. She is an Associate Professor of Law and Norman and Edna Freehling Scholar at the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she has taught since 2009. Her areas of focus are land use, environmental law, property, and commercial real estate transactions. Professor Stern is a graduate of Brown University and Yale Law School.??This talk is part of the YELA Coffee Chat series that brings professors and practitioners to YLS to talk about their interests and work. YELA Coffee Chats will foster informal dialogue between the Yale Law School and faculty and students across schools and programs at Yale University on interdisciplinary environmental and sustainability issues.
