Pacific Islander, Asian, and Native American Law Students Association

About Us

The Pacific Islander, Asian, and Native American Law Students Association (PANA) is a coalition that seeks to promote community among its members and to create a more diverse educational environment.  PANA organizes a year-round calendar of academic, educational, professional, cultural, and social events.  We host panel talks on various topics, such as Asian-American voting rights and political participation, lunch and dinner receptions with different Asian-American faculty members, job search panels, an annual Lunar New Year banquet, and an annual Alumni Awards Banquet.

Additionally, we have a very strong student mentorship program (big sib-little sib), where second and third-year PANA members act as unofficial one-on-one “advisors” to first-year law students with similar interests.  PANA also works with the other affinity groups to recruit students of color and help acclimate them to life at the Yale Law School.  We also work together to broaden the cross-racial dialogue through discussions of issues affecting people of color and the role of law in addressing these concerns.
