Mr. Abouali’s practice focuses on capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, privatization and project financing. He has extensive experience in cross-border transactions.
Mr. Abouali joined Cleary in 1997 and became partner in 2006. From 1997 to 1999, he was resident in the New York office, until moving to the Paris office from 1999 to 2004. He returned to the New York office in 2004 until 2006. He received a J.D. degree from the Yale University Law School in 1996, an M.S. degree with distinction in Operations Research from Stanford University in 1991, and a B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Dartmouth College in 1990. During a sabbatical year in 1999 and 2000, Mr. Abouali served as legal adviser to the Palestine Liberation Organization during the Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations (including the Camp David summit of July 2000). He is a member of the New York and Paris bars. He is fluent in English, French and Arabic.
