Latino Law Students Association (LLSA)
LLSA Public Service Award Dinner
On the evening of Saturday, May 3, 2008, LLSA will host its third annual Public Service Award Dinner. After considering nominations from alumni and current students, we are very pleased to announce that the third recipient of LLSA's Public Service Award will be the Honorable Jose Cabranes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. A graduate of the YLS class of 1965, Judge Cabranes has broken numerous barriers throughout his career and is widely recognized as a leader within the Hispanic legal community, not to mention the federal judiciary. We are proud to call him a LLSA alumnus.
In addition to honoring the achievements of Judge Cabranes, the Public Service Award Dinner will provide a unique opportunity for LLSA alumni and current students to meet and get to know each other. We continually endeavor to create a more vibrant Latino community both inside and outside of Yale Law School, and we believe that this event will be critical to that effort. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, we have secured funding for all interested alumni and students to attend.
If you can attend the event, please RSVP by Friday, April 4, to Maryann Lio (maryann.lio@yale.edu) with the following information:
