Frank Silvestri ’74 Appointed Chair of Federal Civil Procedure Committee

WESTPORT, Conn. (August 25, 2016)—Frank Silvestri Jr. ’74, an American College of Trial Lawyers Fellow and Verrill Dana Partner, was recently appointed as Chair of the College’s Federal Civil Procedure Committee for the year, effective September 15.

The Federal Civil Procedure Committee’s mandate is to monitor the operation of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, as well as general federal civil procedural developments, in order to determine their adequacy, to evaluate proposed changes, and to make recommendations with regard to these matters.

Frank’s depth of experience in this area is widely recognized and recently he was invited to present in a webinar entitled, “The Federal Rules of Civil Procedure: Important Amendments to be Aware of in 2016.” He also moderated a program titled, “It’s All a Matter of Proportion: The 2015 Amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure” at the College’s Spring Meeting in March 2016. 

Representing clients in business disputes, Silvestri’s practice includes litigating partnership and corporate controversies, including breach of fiduciary duty, corporate governance and securities claims; unfair trade practice, business tort and antitrust claims; health care matters; and real property claims. He is also the former co-chair of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Federal Practice Section.
