Neal Roach Jr. ’87 and H. Alexander Campbell ’66: Lawyers of the Year

Neal Roach Jr. ’87 and H. Alexander Campbell ’66 have been named "Lawyer of the Year" by Best Lawyers 2017. Best Lawyers is the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession. "Lawyer of the Year" recognitions are awarded to individual attorneys with the highest overall peer-feedback for a specific practice area and geographic location. Only one lawyer is recognized as the "Lawyer of the Year" for each specialty and location.

Roach is a partner in Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP's health and life sciences practice group in their Indianapolis office. He focuses his practice in the areas of business transactions (particularly intellectual property licensing transactions), corporate compliance and securities law compliance, and healthcare and life sciences law. He has represented numerous startup and high-growth companies on a broad range of matters, including advice on corporate structure and financing; intellectual property protection, management and licensing; contracts; FDA issues; sales and marketing regulation; healthcare compliance; reimbursement; strategic partnership agreements; and consulting agreements. He also advises clients across a wide range of industries with respect to the development and implementation of corporate compliance programs, including compliance strategy, codes of conduct, risk assessments, training, and reporting. Prior to joining the firm, Roach spent fourteen years with Roche Diagnostics, which is part of the Roche Group, one of the world’s leading innovation-driven healthcare groups, and  the world leader in in-vitro diagnostics. During his tenure at Roche, Roach held several legal and business development positions. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America since 2011. Roach earned his J.D. from Yale University Law School in 1987 and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Carson-Newman University in 1984.

Campbell is a partner in Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP.  Based in Wyatt’s Louisville, KY office, Campbell works with public and private companies and financial institutions in acquisitions, corporate finance, securities regulation, secured and unsecured lending, commercial contracting, and corporate counseling. He earned his J.D. from Yale Law School and his undergraduate degree from Yale College.
