Yale-Duke Foreign Relations Law Roundtable on International Agreements

The Yale-Duke Foreign Relations Law Roundtable will take place at Yale Law School on Saturday, October 15. This year’s Roundtable will focus on the future of international agreements and will welcome more than twenty of the country’s leading scholars on foreign relations law, as well as the Principal Deputy Legal Adviser, Office of the Legal Adviser at the United States Department of State. Speakers will be presenting in closed (invitation only) session on a broad range of topics, including the Article II treaty process and its discontents, the expanding categories of executive agreements, non-binding political agreements, and the fragmentation of international cooperation.

This year’s Roundtable will include a lunchtime talk by Avril Haines, Deputy National Security Adviser, and Brian Egan, the Legal Adviser at the Department of State, who will provide their unique perspectives on the future of international agreements. The lunchtime event is open to the Yale community and will be moderated by Professor Harold Koh.
