Open to the YLS Community Only

Please join the Chae Initiative in Private Sector Leadership for a lunch conversation with Logan Beirne ’08, CEO of Matterhorn Transactions and author of Blood of Tyrants: George Washington & the Forging of the Presidency. Logan will share his experience in building and selling a legal tech company prior to his current role as chief executive of Matterhorn, a company that was also recently sold.

About Logan: Following YLS (’08), Logan worked for Sullivan & Cromwell before he founded Matterhorn Transactions. With seed funding from Goldman Sachs and Mark Gerson ’98, Logan helped build a legal technology platform that provides deal term analytics to banks and law firms across the U.S., U.K., and Canada. The company was profitable by year 2 and distributed by both LexisNexis and Wolters Kluwer. Logan rose from COO to CEO of the company in 2015 and led the company's expansion from M&A to 14 other deal types and built a system to house law firms' private documents. He sold Matterhorn to an AI company called DealPulse in 2023 and currently leads the combined organization. Logan has also founded two other companies: an education tech company called Artusi, which is used by universities across 83 countries, and a museum systems company called Collection Harbor. His favorite pastime is giving lectures across the U.S. on how George Washington defined the presidency, which is the topic of his bestselling book. Logan grew up in Connecticut and still lives here with his wife and two children. He haunts the halls of YLS, teaching the financial markets and corporate law clinic with Professor Jonathan Macey.
